Michael D’Innocenzo, professor of history at Hofstra University, will begin a new series of Current Events in Perspective in January. Mr. D’Innocenzo is the 2008 winner of the American Historical Association’s Distinguished Teaching Award. Join him to explore significant national and international developments. All attending the program are welcome to share their views. No registration required.

Children in grades 4 and up can be the first to read children's books published this year. The Newbery Club, now in its third year, was formed by Mrs. Gebel, Head of the Library's Youth Services Department, a member of the 2006 Newbery Committee.
