Margaret Hartough has lived in the Northport-East Northport community for nearly 35 years. Working part-time while raising her four children, Mrs. Hartough was a circulation clerk at the Library and eventually earned her master’s degree to become a reference librarian. She is now the Melville Branch Librarian at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library.
When asked about her role as trustee, Mrs. Hartough replied, “The Northport-East Northport Public Library has always been a special place for me and my family. My children spent many hours at the library, and benefited from all the great resources and wonderful programs. I believe the Library is truly the heart of the community and strong libraries build strong communities. I look forward to bringing my love of libraries and our community to this position on the Board.”
