The Friends of the Northport-East Northport Public Library are enthusiastic, imaginative, and energetic library advocates. The Friends actively support the Library’s annual budget vote, participate in community events, and raise funds to sponsor lectures, museum passes, local author visits, and other special activities.
The Friends meet throughout the year and welcome newcomers.

Donations to the Friends of the Northport-East Northport Public Library helped fund the following:
- Discount vouchers to the Long Island Aquarium
- Museum Passes that offer free admission to a variety of cultural institutions on Long Island and in New York City
- Author visits, concerts, and special programs
- Seasonal daffodil gardens at the Northport and East Northport buildings
- "Friendship-themed" Backpack Storytime for the Children's Room
