In recognition of Black History Month, Preservation Director Sarah Kautz will discuss Preservation Long Island's continuing work on the Jupiter Hammon Project. Hammon, who lived as an enslaved person at Lloyd Manor authored a poem in 1760 which was the first to be published by an African-American born in North America. Registration is underway. This program is co-sponsored by the public libraries in the Town of Huntington.
