Event Details

Join lecturer Marc Courtade and explore the talents of Jo Stafford, one of the best vocalists of the twentieth century. Her style, pure voice, and perfect intonation were praised by many other musicians, as well as servicemen who—during World War II—gave her the nickname “GI Jo” because of her frequent performances for the USO. With 31 top-10 hits in the 1940s and 50s in a range of styles, there is much to discover and admire about Jo Stafford.
