Each year, middle school students come to our Library to hear an award-winning Young Adult author speak about the writing process and answer their questions. In this unique program teens have an opportunity to speak personally with the author and have their books autographed.
Celebrating more than 25 years of Distinguished Author Visits
The following teen writers have visited our Library for the Speaking of Writing program:
Speaking of Writing Collection
An autographed collection of books written by authors who have participated in this program has been created and is part of a permanent display in the Northport Library. This collection was established in memory of Fran Romer, the Young Adult Librarian at the Northport-East Northport Public Library from 1989-2000. Hundreds of middle school students have been inspired by these authors as a result of her expansion of this program.
