Special Loan Service For Our Schools

An extension of public library resources brought directly into the public school classroom, Special Loan Service For Our Schools (SLSFOS) helps support curricular needs while stimulating classroom activity. This program was developed in January, 1990 by the Northport-East Northport Public Library to make its materials more readily available to the teachers and students of the Northport-East Northport School District.

Whether a newcomer or a SLSFOS veteran, teachers at all levels have used the Northport-East Northport Public Library SLSFOS program to bring more than 4,000 items directly into their classrooms.

We look forward to many more opportunities to work with classroom teachers. The Northport-East Northport Public Library’s Special Loan Service For Our Schools is unique on Long Island. Take advantage of it!

Elementary school teachers may contact the Children and Family Services Department at the East Northport Public Library, at 631-261-2313 or fax: 631-261-3466.
